Antique Valluet et Fils 55 Note Cylinder Music Box Plays 6 Airs
DESCRIPTION:
This is a working Victorian era French cylinder music box made by Valluet & Sons in France and distributed by M.J. Paillard & Co. in New York City. Serial number 9584. Music box plays six different songs, the titles and composers are written in French on the label inside the lid. The music box was found in a Pennsylvania estate and is in working condition with all of the notes intact. The box sometimes needs flicked a bit to start, when this happens, once it starts it plays fine. The box is in as found condition, no servicing of any time has been done.
The movement is housed in a wood case. A video has been provided below to demonstrate the music box working. |
