Changes to Cassette Tape Description Pages Benefit Families of Inmates

For those 8 Track Shack customers who buy cassette tapes for their family members and/or friends who are incarcerated, we’ve made a change that will make your shopping easier.  Starting in May 2012, all newly listed cassette tapes with clear cassette tape bodies (a requirement in some states’ prison systems) will be denoted with “CLEAR CASSETTE TAPE BODY” beside the label, to the right of the photo….as pictured above. Spring 2011 Institutional Audio Cassette Catalog & Prison Update

The 8 Track Shack Spring 2011 Institutional Audio Cassette Tape catalog has been finalized and are in the process of being shipped. The latest version of the catalog has nearly 30,000 cassette tape titles. We’ve update our institutional information page as well. This newest version of the catalog now has all tapes in alphabetical order. It is no longer arranged by genre. Each catalog contains almost our entire inventory of cassette tapes. A lot of the bands may appear alphabetically under the “T’s” if the band name always or sometimes is preceded by the word “THE” (ie. “The Beach Boys”). […]

Cassette Tapes for Prisoners in New York State

Update 3/1/2010: 8 Track Shack is approved by New York state as an approved vendor and therefore should be able to send catalogs and tapes to any facility in the state. (Temporary facilities cannot receive any shipments and inmates in TV facilities must place their own orders through our print catalog). Also please note, our bargain bin cassette tapes will not be accepted in any prison as they do not have the original liner notes. We cannot ship bargain bin cassettes to inmates. All tapes have their screws removed and are sealed prior to shipment to facilities
